In Thirteen Days to Midnight, Carman presents a close circle of friends who find themselves facing intriguing questions Can a life really be saved? Or is it a fool's game to deny death's insistence? And even if possible, would saving one life mean bringing doom upon another-or creating a harmful rift in the fabric of the world?

My Thoughts
I have been on this huge Patrick Carman kick lately. Ever since I read Skeleton Creek I have become a massively huge fan of this guy. I follow him on Twitter and Facebook and look forward to the new things that he is always pushing out to the world. I just finished this novel and I loved it. Once again, I read a book by him that was different from each of the previous novels and series. I have yet to finish a book by him and have that feeling you get after reading James Patterson where every novel has the same approach, style, and feel. After you have read about 3-5 Patterson novels you have him figured out for the other 50+ books he has created. With Patrick Carman, you never know what you are getting yourself into when you begin one of his books. With Trackers, he used the video/reading concept, but it was way different in feel compared to Skeleton Creek. 13DTM does not have any video feeds, but just because it is a regular novel does not mean he has lost his touch. This book is darker, more intense, and a little more intriguing in storyline. He brushed on the topics of good vs bad, religion in terms of God and using a superpower to try and make decisions as if a god, foul language(nothing too bad by any means, but really helps shape the storyline and make the dialogue more believable), and the large concept of friendship and falling in love.

I am going on a limb here by stating that this might be my favorite novel of his. I was really into the storyline as I was confused and very interested in what would happen next. This is a bold statement on my part as I loved his other works. I plan on reading Ghost in the Machine as I have not read that one yet. I like to space out my series so plot is fresh on my mind as new releases come out.

As always, Patrick does have a cool website out for the book. Check it out here

Go out and read this book, post your thoughts here on the blog or my twitter account. This is one of the best books I have read this summer and I will be booktalking this book big time when school starts up again.

Great job Patrick and look forward to your new series and book three in the Skeleton Creek series as well.

Thirteen Days to Midnight (Audible Audio Edition) Patrick Carman Steven Boyer Recorded Books Books Reviews

I've read just about every book by her, and everyone, including this, are some of the best books I've ever read! Hands down!
I rated this book for a couple reasons
1. I am a teen from Oregon and I like the outdoors
2. I am a big fan of Patrick Carman
3. The book was very much enjoyable and was creatively written.
This book was great, it always kept me on the edge of my seat. I will probably say this is one of the best books that I've ever read.
This book was very good I recommend it to everyone please read this book it was good but not amazing it wad sort of confusing at some parts but overall very good
Great story! I totally recommend it!
Jacob Fielding survives a car accident, but was passed a gift from his guardian just before he died that makes Jacob indestructible. He soon discovers he can pass it to others too but only one person can have it at a time. But is this super power really a curse?

Thirteen Days To Midnight explores this question, as he and his friends survive daring feats without a scratch. But as they cheat Death time and again, they notice Ophelia, Jacob's crush, is fading into a dark shell of herself and is becoming more and more possessive of the gift. And although they become super heroes in saving people, they never stop to consider the consequences of when they succeed. The only way they can set Ophelia free from herself is to kill her. But do they have the guts to do it?

This book is lower-teen but still an interesting read.
While the material had been used before, author Patrick Carman brings a new light to the "boy superhero" story. For once the boy just doesn't go around like a maniac and use it on every living thing he can see. We see conflict in the main character of Jacob, and I must say, as a 15 year old, he was very, very relatable. The pacing in the book was superb and kept me interested until the very last page. I literally could not put it down, because it makes you want to know how these characters turn out. All in all, it was a very good read and very recommendable to friends. So, why not 5 stars, why 4? Because to me, 5 stars means that the book changed me, and I can say it was "great". To me, "13 days to midnight" didn't change me, and it wasn't "great". Don't get me wrong, it was a "good", fun, and entertaining book, and it deserves every 4 stars that I gave it.
